Invisalign and Orthodontics

Invisalign is a modern and patient-friendly way of straightening teeth.

It is a series of transparent aligners that are made on the basis of an intraoral scan of a patient's teeth. Computer simulations move each tooth to an ideal position. Each subsequent aligner moves the teeth slightly towards the desired end position.

The advantage over conventional orthodontics (fixed braces) is a much easier hygiene maintenance as the aligners are detachable. Tooth movements are milder because aligners are changed every 1 to 2 weeks. The time component is also important; on average, the therapy is decreased by one third compared to fixed braces and visits to the office are less frequent.

With the help of a computer simulation, we can show tooth movement and the final appearance at the first consultation.

In some cases, the classic treatment with fixed braces is more appropriate. We use the American Damon system, where the brackets are self-locking and thus allow for gentler tooth movements. We offer metal and transparent brackets.
